The Association was established in 1932. The founding members mainly consisted businessmen in the bicycle trade. As Singapore became more developed and prosperous, however, motor vehicles and other much advanced forms of transportation replaced bicycles and trishaws as the main modes of transportation.
As a result, members of the Association are now mainly dealers of motor vehicle parts and accessories.
We are also an active member of Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI).
SCMTA regularly holds formal and informal sessions to gather members’ feedback. Such events provide the perfect opportunity for members to interact and network.
Our membership consists 120 leading companies in Singapore’s automotive parts trade. Together, our members drive industry growth, foster collaboration, and strengthen the collective voice of the sector.
